Welcome
to the Jersey Surf Kayak Team's website. The Jersey Surf Kayak Team
first competed in 1993 at the Home Internationals, placing third at
the end of the competition. This result set the tone for the team's
future, achieving major success throughout the years, culminating in
their result at the World Championships in 2001, where they took first
place beating many larger teams, most notably the USA West Coast team
on their home wave, this was obviously a huge achievement for the team
and for Jersey. All of the teams results can be found on the results
page of this site.
The
team has also enjoyed success at individual level, with members taking
medals at both World and national level. The most recent of which were
Ailsa McDougall, who won second placeand
Tim Rowe who placed third in their respective
categories at the recent World Surf Kayak Championships, held in Ireland.
The
gallery section of the site contains many
pictures of the team surfing at home and away, as well as pictures of
the ranking competitions used to decide who goes into the team.
The
final section of the Team's site is the sponsors
page. Without these, sending the team away would be a lot more challenging,
both for the Jersey Surf Kayak Club and for the individuals involved
due to the high cost of equipment and travel, so were are extremely
grateful for the support they've shown us.
